Jennie Bess Coller's Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing Jennie Bess Coller.Jennie Bess, a true Miami native, was born to Mae and Harris Mickel in 1923. She is survived by her son, Hank and his wife, Jan and was preceded in death by her beloved grandson, Harris. Also surviving is sister, Jeanette Freeman of South Carolina and beloved friends Lallah Branca, Nina Chapman and Walter Cook. Jennie Bess was an exquisitely beautiful person who began modeling as a teenager. She started her work career in high school and proved to be an excellent business woman. with her late husband, Harris she owned an insurance business, a land development company in Florida and North Carolina, and a Christmas tree farm and textile mill in South Carolina. Her creative mind, courage and iron will were a large part of the success of their enterprises. She was a wonderful woman who enjoyed life to its fullest whose energetic spirit will be missed by family, friends and everyone who knew her. Visitation on Monday, February 16th from 5:00p.m. - 7:00p.m. at Van Orsdel Funeral Home, 4600 S.W. 8th Street, Coral Gables, FL Services will be held at 2:00p.m. on Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at Christ The King Lutheran Church 11295 S.W. 57th Avenue Pinecrest, FL
