Jean Margaret Tokay's Obituary
TOKAY
Jean Wallon, passed peacefully on May 31st, 2012. She was a Chicago native and long time resident of Coconut Grove, Florida. Jean joined Eastern Airlines. In 1961 and enjoyed 30 wonderful years both as a flight attendant and a member of In-Flight Management. In later years, her love of the aviation industry allowed her to continue her career as a flight attendant with American Airlines.
An accomplished tennis player, she was a member of Chicago's Saddle and
Cycle Club, the Midtown Tennis Club, and was actively involved with the Eastern Airlines Tennis Team competing all over the world in airline tennis tournaments.
An excellent all-around athlete, she was passionate about swimming,
sailing and scuba diving and was an exceptional downhill skier as well.
Jean was a fervent believer in civic responsibility. She was a member of The Viscayans and served on their Board of Directors. She was a member of the Fairchild Tropical Gardens and an active supporter of The New World Symphony. Jean leaves a legacy of charm, elegance, glamour and graciousness and will be terribly missed by her family and her legion of friends. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Esen Tokay, brother Dennis Wallon, and many other relatives. Funeral service will be privately held. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Viscayans. Her husband Esen leaves us with this thought: "Jean was my Everything and I will miss her deeply”. “Bir Tanem."
