Janice Jones' Obituary
Janice Jones, a devoted servant of God and cherished member of the South Florida community, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2025, at age 84. Born on July 6, 1940, in Washington, Pennsylvania, Jan’s life was defined by compassion, dedication, and a deep love for her faith and community.
Janice began her career as a nurse, relocating to Miami to serve at Mount Sinai Hospital, where her caring nature touched countless lives. Later, she transitioned to the legal field, becoming a valued team member at the Weber Smith law firm, respected for her knowledge and meticulous attention to detail.
A woman of strong faith, Jan found joy and community at Christ Fellowship Church, where she admired the guidance of former pastor Rick Blackwood. She was an enthusiastic participant in Bible Study Fellowship, finding deep meaning in scripture. Her commitment to service extended to the American Legion Auxiliary, where she actively supported its mission.
Known for her warm smile and love for fellowship, Janice will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her loving niece, Jane Snyder, of Ohio.
A memorial service to celebrate Jan’s life service will be on Saturday April 26th at 10:00 AM at Van Orsdel Funeral Home, Coral Gables Chapel, located at 4600 SW 8th St, Coral Gables, FL 33134. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jan’s memory to Christ Fellowship Church, an organization close to her heart.
