JAMES WILLIAMS's Obituary
Williams, James was born in O’Brien, FL on August 5, 1923 to the late Moses Williams and Cora Williams. James Williams AKA Packard James departed this life on September 19, 2016, following an extended illness at Kindred Hospital in Coral Gables, FL. He attended public schools in O’Brien, FL. and Miami, FL. completing 5th grade. On June 21, 1953, he and Dorothy Ferguson Williams were united in Holy Matrimony. They remained married for 63 years. Later in life he became a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and continued to serve until an illness occurred. He thoroughly enjoyed assisting people and shooting pool. Also he was very well liked by many of them. He became the proprietor of Dixie Pine Café for many years, and gainfully employed by Sears, City of Coral Gables and Publix Market, retiring from each after years of service. James also was a member of the Armed Forces. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Dorothy Ferguson Williams; son, James Henry Williams; sister, Marvel Shannon; 10 nieces, Janine Warren (Jackie), Michele Henry, Latonda Shannon, Keilyuana Dawson Corakendrick, Alicia Shannon, Cammy and children; 6 nephews, Terrance, Javis, Ezekiel Holcomb, Curtis Holland, Arthur Smith, and Keith Shannon; 5 grandchildren, Tina Damon, Kiyana Durham, Kelvin Durham, James Williams and Tiji Williams; 2 sisters-in-law, Louise Hartfield and Beatrice Tooten; 1 brother-in-law, Cecil Ferguson and many other special friends and other relatives.
