JAMES NORMAN MUNRO's Obituary
James Norman Munro, passed away from lung cancer at the age of 55 on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family in Miami, Florida. James was born on March 26, 1959 to Charles L. Munro and Marian I. Munro, the youngest of 6 children. He attended Kinloch Park Elementary, Kinloch Junior High and attended Miami Senior High School.
James served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (Ike). He was the first crew on the aircraft commissioned in 1977.
In 1981 James began a long career in the construction industry; president (owner) of Munro Enterprises, Inc. Jim took great pride in his work. Many construction sites will remain for years to come as a testament of his dedication and talent. James was a hard and honest worker and a Jack of all trades. James loved to make those around him laugh and smile. Always putting others before himself. Passionate about motorcycles, antique cars, traveling, boating, music; living his life to the fullest. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
James is survived by his wife, Adela Aguilera Munro; daughters, Michelle Lynn Garcia, Stephanie Ann Munro; grandchildren, Aiden and Isabella Garcia; sisters, Marian, Jane, Charlotte; half-sisters, Patty and Kathy; brother Charles (Larry); his father Charles Munro and numerous nieces and nephews. James was preceded in death by his mother Marian I. Munro; sister, Judith (Judy); and half-brother, Billy Hilderbrand. Jim as we loved calling him, was a loving dedicated son, husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was a respectful, faithful, and dignified man. Jim lived as such and will be missed.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, April 28th, 2014 from 6pm to 12am at Van Orsdel Funeral Home at 4600 SW 8th St, Coral Gables, FL 33134. Burial will be held Tuesday, April 29th at 10 am at the same location and burial site at Graceland Memorial Park 4420 SW 8th St, Coral Gables, FL 33134.
