James Edward Lameier's Obituary
Florida — James Edward Lameier, 83, died Monday, September 24, 2018 at Kendall Regional Hospital in Miami following a brief illness.
He leaves his wife of 33 years, Esmeralda (Otero) Lameier; his sons, Brian Lameier and his wife Dana; Brett Lameier and his wife, Christy; Mauricio Solis and his wife Amy; Four granddaughters: Micaela and McKensy Lameier; Madeline and Sophia Solis; his brother Tom Lameier and his wife Audrey; and many close relatives and friends.
Born and raised in Cincinnati, the son of Harry and Dorothy (Lang) Lameier. While in high school, you could find Jim behind the grid iron as captain of his football team. Jim eventually left Ohio and moved to Florida for health reasons. In the sunshine state, he quickly became a fan of fishing and golfing. He met his wife, Esmeralda, at the Miami Merchandise Mart, where they both worked and they were married in 1985.
Jim worked in sales for many years. He not only took pride in his business, but truly relished the friends he made during his time in business. He was a longtime member of the Rotary Club. It was obvious that he was good at what he did because everyone loved talking with Jim – he made it easy and enjoyable.
Jim loved nothing more than watching a good football game on his couch – cheering on his favorite teams and yelling at coaches and players to run the ball! If it turned out to be a bad game he always had a solution: ice cream! Jim never met an ice cream flavor he didn’t like!
Jim also leaves behind everyone’s favorite Yorkie: Simon. Jim loved walking Simon and sneaking him treats.
Jim was most proud of his family. He took any chance he had, to open up his leather wallet and show off pictures of his family in Ohio and Florida.
A funeral service will be held from 2-6 p.m. on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Van Orsdel Funeral Chapel and Crematory in Miami, Florida.
