James Lee Hawkins' Obituary
James Lee Hawkins, better known to friends and family as “Jim”, passed away in Miami, Florida, during the early minutes of Friday, December 3rd. He battled with COPD for well over a decade before succumbing to it at the age of 73.
Jim was born in Miami, FL, on February 29, 1948. He graduated from Carol City SHS, served in the armed forces and fought in the Vietnam War. After his tour of service, he returned to Miami, where he worked as a Journeyman Electrician until his retirement.
In October of 1976 he married the love of his life, Brenda Rand and they remained happily married for 27 years until her passing in 2004. Jim was happiest when surrounded by his family and friends at gatherings in his home. He was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather and his memory will continue to live on in all our hearts. He is survived by his four children: Brandi (Karl), Brian, Stefan and Kimberly. He is also survived by seven grandchildren: Kristle (Olivier), Kaylee, Brian, Lilyen, Madilyn, Isabella and Benjamin and one great-grandchild: Christian James “CJ”. He is additionally survived by his brother-in-laws: Michael (Kevin) and Henry and his sister-in-law Julianne.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on December 11, 2021 from 3-6pm
