JAIME VELOZ's Obituary
Jaime Veloz, 78, Miami, Florida
Jaime Veloz passed away on August 31, 2016. He was born in Ambato, Ecuador, on June 11, 1938. He is survived by his wife, Denise (née Reed); daughters Jennifer (Adolfo) Anzola and Loretta (Jose) Pouso; his four grandsons, of whom he was very proud, Adolfo and Stefan Anzola, Jose and Mateo Pouso; and his sister, Rebecca (Lucho) Jaramillo and niece and nephews.
Jaime immigrated to the U.S. on July 4, 1962. He proudly served and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army and became a U.S. citizen. The majority of his life here was spent in New York, where he provided a good life for his family. Jaime loved tennis, which he played up to the time of his death, and passed this love on to his immediate and extended family. His retirement in Florida was spent doing what he loved, eating seafood, playing tennis, gardening and engaging in political conversation. He loved Miami for all it had to offer, often comparing it to the place of his birth. He will be missed.
Funeral arrangements will be held at 1pm, Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Church of the Little Flower, 2711 Indian Mound Trail, Coral Gables, Florida 33134. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
