Jacob Ravitch's Obituary
RAVITCH, Jacob, 82, passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2009, in Miami. He was
born on October 16, 1926 in Chicago, to Sam and Lena. After serving in the U.S. Army, he
then served in the naval reserves. During the Cuban Missile Crisis, Jacob was an active
member of the Civil Defense. Upon returning from the service, Jacob moved to Miami in 1946.
He retired from Florida Power & Light after 44 years of service. Jacob was an electrician
and a member of the international Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. After retiring, Jacob
and Hilda traveled extensively through Europe, Russia and the Caribbean. He is survived by
his loving wife Hilda and devoted children, Kim (Donald) Pollock, Jayne Ravitch and Jim Ravitch.
Jacob is forever in our hearts and we will miss him dearly. The family will be receiving friends
today at Van Orsdel from 10-11am with services beginning at 11am. In lieu of flowers, any gifts
