Grubbs "Jack" Corey (1951 - 2016
COREY, JACKSON ("Jack") GRUBBS, 64, died peacefully on Tuesday, June 7, at home on Miami Beach. Born November 13, 1951, he was a native of Miami and graduate of Miami Senior High School. As a young man, his life was saved and profoundly influenced by the kindness of the St. Luke's Treatment Center and he became a self-made business success, specializing in the local printing industry. Fifteen years ago, he began the journey of Recovery and, on March 2, 2002 received a "gift that keeps giving" with a liver transplant through The Miami Transplant Institute at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital. After receiving this gift of life, Jack dedicated himself to helping countless other men and women discover and grow in Recovery and through their 12-Step and spiritual journeys. In addition to countless friends in AA, he is survived by his brother and sister in law Ralph and Julianna Corey, and his ex-wives which are still close and constant friends Stephanie Corey Mangano and Kathy Corey. A memorial service and celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, June 11 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Philip's Episcopal Church 1121 Andalusia Ave., Coral Gables.
