ISABEL COLLADO's Obituary
Isabel Collado was born in the bucolic countryside of Aibonito, Puerto Rico and later moved to the bustling metropolis of New York City at the tender age of 20 with a small detour through Minneapolis. Her sense of adventure led her to seek new horizons. Once settled in New York City, she embarked upon a career designing children’s apparel and found the time to enroll in the prestigious Branford Academy of Hair and Cosmetology and completed her certification to become a fully licensed beautician. Her professor at Branford was the renowned Bashi, the personal coiffeur of Her Majesty The Empress of Iran Farah Pahlavi. It was during this time, her path was crossed with a dashing, ambitious medical resident who was starting his professional career in New York. She married Cristobal Ramon Collado in June 28, 1958 and had three daughters Socorro(Michael), Elizabeth(Reinhard), Yvette (Robert). Isabel assisted her husband in his burgeoning medical practice in the Bronx and then settled with their young family in the peaceful, idyllic town of New Rochelle, 30 miles north of New York City. After enduring many Northeastern winters, she and her husband decided to relocate to the warmth and sunshine of the oceanfront and cosmopolitan suburb of Condado, San Juan, Puerto Rico. Upon her husband’s retirement, they both settled in the beautiful town of Coral Gables, Florida. Upon her youngest daughter’s marriage, she relocated to Columbia, SC which was her home until the Lord called her. She cared and looked after her family and loved ones and lent a caring hand to anyone who needed to be uplifted. She will be remembered and missed by many. We love and will miss you very much Mamita!
