IRENE M SMITH's Obituary
Tribute to Irene Smith
February 9, 1925 - July 10, 2019
We celebrate and pay tribute to Irene Smith (“Nanny” as family affectionately called her). What can one say about someone whose life was so exemplary in love, kindness and character? Nanny touched the hearts of everyone that she came in contact with. She exuded love, peace, and joy. Nanny had a way in connecting with every person she encountered and this was no act, she was the real McCoy. A genuine Godly woman and servant who lived her life according to her faith and values. Seldom in life are we able to balance being wholly devoted to our families and wholly dedicated to faith and service to others but she gave 100% of herself to each. Nanny selfishly gave of herself to people but yet she was never empty because you can never out-give God and she was filled by the fruit of the spirit which is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control (GALATIANS 5:22-23 AMP).
Nanny leaves a wonderful legacy to her family that was demonstrated up to her last breath. Alzheimers may have stolen her body and mind in her last years but it could not conquer her spirit. She was full of love, joy and peace. Always thankful, grateful and with an open heart.
She is survived by Daughter, Mary Carol Boring, Sisters Ilene and Vicky, Grandson Todd Boring and Great granddaughter Taylor Boring.
We will celebrate Irene Smith’s legacy of love on August 2, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Dominic Catholic Church 5909 NW 7th St, Miami, FL 33126.
