Huib Pendraat's Obituary
Herbie (Huib) Pendraat, 64, a truly wonderful and strong man, passed away on Sunday, December 15th 2019, from cancer. He faced his cancer with bravery and strength and tried everything in his power to beat it but the disease took over. Herbie was a kind and caring person. There is no doubt to anyone who knew Herbie that he was truly one of a kind with not a mean bone in his body. He was hard working and always willing to lend a hand at work or to a neighbor. He had an incredible sense of humor with an ability to be upbeat while still remaining empathic through life’s ups and down. “Patience is a virtue” he would often say, and that was true in his life as well as illness, always taking his time to make sure he could take care of the things most important to him. Of those important things, he was most devoted to his “love of my life” Cathy and her children Lauren and Kristopher who he knew all of their lives and loved as his own. He is forever bonded to his twin sister, Miep. He will also be remembered by his sisters Mickie and May, and Cathy’s family. Most of all we are so happy he got to meet his grandson Jace and spend time with him. Herbie will forever be loved and remembered. Thank you for all you gave, Herbie. There is no better way to honor him than to put on a good tune as he loved to sing and whistle. Give him a toast, singing his favorite ABBA line, “having the time of your life.” From his dearest Cathy: Herbie you will always remain in my heart and I can’t imagine life without you but I will have you with me always, “Love Of My Life!” A private memorial will be planned at a later time.
