Homer A. Townsend's Obituary
TOWNSEND
Homer A. Townsend, 91, a Tallahassee resident for three years, formerly of Miami, died Wednesday, June 15, 2011, in Tallahassee.
He was born November 8, 1919, in Hawthorne, Florida, to the late Walter Edwin and Maude Beckham Townsend. He served in the US Army Air Corps, during World War II and was married to the late Charlotte Louise Boden Townsend. He worked with A.N. Brady Wholesale Hardware for 30 years, then opened Homer Townsend Sales.
He is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon Townsend and John Frazier, Barbara Ann Townsend and Roger Jones; grandchildren, MGySgt. Robert M. Johns, Cynthia Louise Riddle, Kathleen Johns, Cheryl Anne Frazier, Sgt. Craig Allen Frazier, Allison Marie Frazier Corrigan; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; grandsons, James Allen Johns and Gary Lee Frazier.
Entombment is 2:00 PM, Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at Woodlawn Park Cemetery in Miami, with Dr. Craig Nelson officiating.
