Homer Fields Gibson Jr.'s Obituary
Homer Fields Gibson Jr., 89, of Ocala, passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 in Ocala Florida. Homer was a native of Pearson, Georgia and moved to Miami Florida in 1942. He graduated from Miami Jackson High School in 1947. He was employed by Eastern Airlines after graduation where he worked for 43 years and retired as a Supervisor. Homer was President of the North/Central Florida (Ocala) of EARA. He was a member of the EAL Toastmasters Club, EAL Management Council, Miami Elks Lodge #948, and West Dade Moose Lodge 1825 Miami.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Elizabeth. He is survived by his wife Constance Kuehn Gibson of Miami; nephew Donald Gibson; sister in-law Wanda Hawkins of Ocala and nieces Patricia Sylvia of Boston, MA, Nancy Allan and Pamela Moore; nephew, John (Yvonne) Moore.
A gathering to celebrate Homer's life will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 from 2:00PM to 4:00PM at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 9695 SW 110th Street, Ocala Florida 34481. A service will be held on Friday, December 15, 2017 from 10:00AM to 11:00AM at Van Orsdel Kendall Chapel, 11220 N. Kendall Drive, Miami, Florida 33176 followed by burial at Miami Memorial Park, Miami Florida.
