Helmuth Solis' Obituary
It is with the heaviest heart that we announce the passing of our beloved brother, Helmuth Solis. Helmuth was born in Miami, Florida on July 2, 1982 to his parents, Cecilia Mireya Castaneda and Jorge Solis, and called home by God on June 3, 2025. He was 42 years old. Helmuth touched countless lives with his never-ending smile and love for life. He was an angel on Earth, and a source of light and energy that delighted everyone he met. He is survived by his wife, Yasmin Solis, his two children, Maya and Marc, his father, Jorge, and his sister, Anya.
Helmuth was deeply in love with his wife, Yasmin, since high school, and together they created over 20 years of wonderful memories. He was the proudest father of his children, Maya and Marc, and he gleamed with happiness every day since their birth. He would talk with such excitement about their countless adventures on the softball and soccer fields, and about family trips. He loved Yasmin, Maya and Marc to no end, and he reveled in their life journey together. He also loved Yasmin’s extended family, who was a constant source of happiness, support, and great times for him.
Professionally, Helmuth was a brilliant and hardworking lawyer who graced the Miami-Dade Courtrooms daily. He graduated from the University of Miami Law School in 2007 and became a Miami Dade Prosecutor before moving into a private Criminal Defense practice, with his law partner and friend, Justin Beckham. Justin and Helmuth had a special bond from the moment they met, built on trust, mutual respect, hard work, hustle, and fun. For 18 years, Helmuth successfully defended thousands of clients, positively affecting many lives with his trademark smile and quick-witted sense of humor.
Helmuth's friends from childhood, high school, and college all held a special place in his heart. He was the friend you could always count on, and his loyalty was unmatched. Almost every day, an old friend would reach out to him to say hello to rekindle their lifelong bond with “Hamster”, and he loved that.
Helmuth had a deep connection with the ocean and boating, often spending wonderful times with family and friends by the sea. He also loved his city and all its sports. His love for the Miami Hurricanes was evident, as he always brought his family to events and football tailgates, a passion for him.
He was so special to so many people, words cannot do Helmuth justice. To know him was to love him, and he loved all of us right back. He truly treated us all, and he will be missed terribly.
