Helen was born in Lawrence, MA to Fred St. John and Virginia Webster St. John. As a young girl, she lost her father in a drowning accident after he had survived WW II in Belgium. Her Mom and younger sister Barbara, moved to Clinto Read Obituary

My sister and I and all of the neighborhood kids spent many days swimming in the pool, playing Marco Polo and playing football in Chris’ yard over 45 yrs ago at the house in Kendall. Mrs. Zanyk (as we called her as young kids back then) was very soft-spoken but man if she gave you that look you knew she meant business. I remember her always being there to bandage a scrape or cut (and there were many) over the years. She was a wonderful woman and fantastic mom.
