GLADYS ROS's Obituary
ROS, Gladys Camacho, 87, died peacefully in her home on June 30th surrounded by family. She was born on September 28, 1926 in Havana, Cuba to Alberto Camacho y Llovet and Maria Catalina Lagomasino y Seiglie. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Havana in 1949 and did post-graduate studies at Oklahoma State University, Stillwater 1953-54. Gladys was an Assistant Professor Quantitative Analysis at the University of Havana. She married Alberto Ros on February 15, 1953 in the Santuario Nacional de San Antonio de Padua. The family fled communist Cuba for Miami on August 18, 1961. She worked at Key Pharmaceuticals for 22 years until she retired. Besides her husband Alberto of 61 years, she is survived by daughters Lillian Ros Martin (Robert Lamons) and Marilyn (Ian) McKeague of NYC; grandsons Robert (Xaviera) Martin and Daniel (Lauren) McKeague; a granddaughter, Kezia McKeague; great-grandchildren, Alexis and Colin Martin and Grant McKeague; a brother Jorge Camacho; brother-in-law, Mario Ros; sisters-in-law, Sylvia Camacho and Alicia Ros de la Coba; Longtime caretakers Lupita and Patricia; and many nieces and nephews. A mass of the resurrection will be held on Wednesday, July 2 at 11 am at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 14187 SW 72 Street, Miami, 33183. In lieu of flowers a donation in her name may be made to the charity of your choice.
