Gerard Emile Amedee's Obituary
In Loving Memory of Gerard Emile Amédée
It is with the deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Gerard Emile Amédée, on November 3rd, 2025.
Emile was a man of remarkable kindness, integrity, and quiet strength. He dedicated his life to his family, friends, and community, leaving behind a legacy of love, generosity, and laughter. Family was at the heart of everything he did; he deeply cared about maintaining unity and love among those he cherished. His wisdom and warmth touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Born in Haiti on March 15, 1932, Emile lived a life rich in purpose and meaning. He was a kind brother to Esther, France, and Joseph, a devoted husband to Marie-Ange Amédée, a loving father to Marie-Elsie, Florence, Jean-Bernard, Edwige, and Emile Jr., a thoughtful grandfather to Alexander Dowell, Natasha Dowell, Krystian Amédée, Sebastien Amédée, Gabriel Amédée, Carina Amédée, Carolina Amédée, Amélie Xavier, Kaethan De Crumpe, Emil Amédée and Sidney Amédée. He was also a proud great-grandfather to Joy Dowell, Stevie Amédée, Ava Amédée, and Shay Amédée. He cared deeply for his numerous nieces and nephews, and his absence will be deeply felt by the François, Benoit, Amédée and so many others touched by him.
He was passionate about architecture and engineering, dedicating his career to designing and constructing both residential homes and commercial buildings. Whether sharing stories sitting on his patio, lending a helping hand, or offering his steady guidance, Emile’s presence was a constant source of wisdom and inspiration.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, November 8th, 2025, at the following locations:
