George Andrew Allsman's Obituary
ALLSMAN, George Andrew ("Andy") was born in Kansas City, MO on June 3, 1941 to Agnes Clarkson Arons. Andy proudly served in the U.S. Navy. He married his childhood friend Deanna in 1969 and shortly after they moved to Miami, FL to raise their son Clark Andrew and daughter Andrea. A skilled craftsman, Andy loved to spend time in his shop creating and building whenever he had an opportunity. He loved to encourage other people. He was actively involved in coaching his son Clark on the baseball field and he was always a dedicated and supportive husband and father. Even in these last few years as he battled heath problems he always loved to share a good story or joke just to make someone else smile. Andy will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and neighbors. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, caring Papa, and friend to everyone with whom he came in contact. Andy passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Dec.24th, 2010. He is survived by his loving wife Deanna Allsman, son Clark Allsman, daughter Andrea McWhirter, son-in-law John McWhirter and his granddaughters Sarah and Elizabeth McWhirter. Van Orsdel Funeral Home in Kendall will host a gathering with the family on Friday, Dec. 31st at 10 a.m. followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to University Baptist Church or to a charity that is close to your heart.
