George Howard Cummings III's Obituary
CUMMINGS, GEORGE HOWARD III, 71, of Miami, Florida, passed away on
December 30, 2018. He was born in Miami, Florida on May 28, 1947. George graduated from Miami Edison High School in 1965. He continued his education at the University of Florida, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in 1970 and a Master’s of Science in 1973.
George taught high school for over 35 years. He began his teaching career at Miami Jackson and later taught at Southwest Miami High School, where he ended his career as Head of the Science Department.
George was a member of the South Florida Archaeological Society. He enjoyed traveling, camping and spending time with his family. He was an avid collector of antiques, and loved trips to Flea Markets. He was an excellent mechanic and handyman. He was always willing to assist, all you had to do was ask.
George is survived by his mother, Doris Cummings of Oviedo, Florida; sisters, Cheryl Day of Walnut Creek, California and Janis Bridges of Jacksonville, Florida; brother, Darrell Cunningham of Miami, Florida and several nieces and nephews.
