George Santos Costa's Obituary
George Santos Costa (aka Jorge Santos Costa) born in Lisbon, Portugal in 1954, the son of Antonio Santos Costa a Senior Colonel, passed away in the late evening hours of December 23, 2023, at the age of 69, in a hospital near his home in Delray Beach, Florida. His battle with medical issues since last year showed his courage in facing life’s challenges with a smile and relentless optimism. This relentless and infectious optimism stayed with him until the very end.
It was also one of his most defining features as a wonderful husband and father. His ability to extract a smile out of anyone after a bad day at work will remain unparalleled, and his memory as the invincible candle that remained unaffected by life’s turbulent winds will always be cherished.
In his free time, he loved to be with friends, take care of the garden, and more importantly ride his motorcycle. Being a member of the BMWNEF (BMW Motorcycle Club of Northeast Florida) club, he enjoyed taking part in every single ride, as well as the accompanying friendships and laughter it brought with fellow members of the club.
He bought his first boat in 1979 in Venezuela where he lived for over 12 years, he was an outstanding skipper, a sailor of all weathers and his resilience and courage in the sea could only be paralleled in his own life.
He is survived by his wife Lingna Mi, four children, Afonso Santos Costa, Veronica de Mello, Franz Huang, and Francisco Santos Costa, along with four grandchildren, Carlota, Matilde, Vicente and Frederica.
A Catholic funeral mass for Mr. Costa will be conducted on Friday, December 29, 2023 at 2:30 P.M. at the Church of the Little Flower 2711 Indian Mound Trail, Coral Gables, FL 33134

Dear Linda and Simmy:
Thank you for the opportunity to meet Jorge…. I don't need to describe the shock of the news received nor the emptiness felt in our hearts since we found out what happened. Always count on our feelings, support, respect and friendship!
This guy captivated us from the first moment, with a Portuguese-Brazilian look, mixed with a mixture of a good-humored republican full of jokes and truths.
We thank God for the few, but memorable moments shared as a family, on important dates, for the affection and respect he always treated and received us. We thank God for the memories left, for the brief teachings, for the affection with our little Chloe….
Thank you friend Jorge for leaving us friends like Linda and Simy, who will continue your legacy and will be friends for our lives, thank you friend for the affectionate hug and kiss on the cheek, a typical greeting from a Portuguese Brazilian. Thank you for marking our lives in such a positive way and now I miss you so much.
Linda and Simy, now in this new format that life has imposed on you, we ask God to strengthen you, fill you with wisdom, courage, faith and God's peace to continue this journey. Count on me and Mariana for anything you need, ALWAYS.
With much regret and love
Chloe, Mariana and Fernando
