Fred Allen Lamb Jr.'s Obituary
Fred A. Lamb, 81, passed away on September 1, 2024, in Miami, Florida. Born on November 3, 1942, in Philadelphia, PA, Fred later made his home in Florida, where he left a remarkable imprint through both his professional and personal life.
Fred honorably served in the United States Navy from February 1966 until March 10, 1972, achieving the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade. His commitment to service continued in his civilian career with the State of Florida's Department of Juvenile Justice, where he dedicated many years before retiring in 2001.
An alumnus of Florida State University, Fred earned a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, which fueled his lifelong commitment to community and service. Beyond his professional endeavors, Fred was a passionate fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and an avid collector of sports memorabilia. He and his late wife, Sherry, who preceded him in death in March 2024, were known for their joyous gatherings, hosting numerous parties for friends and relatives.
Fred is survived by step-son, Scott Dunn; his wife Cynthia
And children, Brian Dunn, Roberto Icaza, and Jessica Silva. He was also preceded in death by his step-son, Sean Dunn.
The funeral service will be held at Van Orsdel Funeral Home, located at 11240 North Kendall Drive, Miami, Florida, on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 1 PM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Fred's memory to Tunnel 2 Towers and Disabled American Veterans, reflecting his deep connection to service and community support.
