Frank R. Rotolante's Obituary
ROTOLANTE, FRANK R., 90, born January 2, 1920, in Rockvale, CO, he moved to Denver, CO, at an early age. He was one of six children, but now survived only by his youngest sibling, his brother John (Marian) Oakhurst, CA. He Graduated Denver's Northwestern High School and then attended the Colorado School of Mines. His college studies were cut short, when after the United States entered WWII, he joined the United States Army Air Corps, where he intended to fulfill his lifelong dream of becoming an aviator. Instead of flying, he became an instructor in the Aviation Navigation School, variously stationed in Florida, Texas and California. While stationed in Miami he met and married his bride. May L. Morat, on June 19, 1943. Mazie passed away June 14, 2005. After WWII he finished his college education in 1947 at the University of Florida. He was a patient, attentive, loving father of 6 sons and 1 daughter: Roger (Corinne), Wayne (Betty), Brian (Magali), Denis (Debra), David (Maria), Joel and Lisa (Alan) Criado; 23 grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. During his life he was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus and a founding member of the Century Club of Christopher Columbus High School. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation in his memory to Christopher Columbus High School, 300 S.W. 87th Avenue, Miami FL 33165. A viewing will be held on Thursday, Oct. 14, From 7-9pm at Van Orsdel Coral Gables Chapel.
