Francis James Esposito Jr.'s Obituary
It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Francis James Esposito Jr. on January 17, 2024 in Miami, Florida with his two daughters Shelley and Nichole, by his side. He fought a long battle with Cancer and was Courageous and Strong throughout the entire time. Born on May 19th 1946, in Rutland, VT to Francis James Esposito Sr and Eileen Joy Warner Esposito.
He attended St Peter’s grade school where he excelled as an honor Boy Scout. Jimmy received many merit badges and the Order of the Arrow with the Boy Scouts. He attended MSJ from 1960-1964 where he was a halfback on the football team. He received his bachelor’s degree from American International College in Springfield, Massachusetts on a football scholarship and was a grade A athlete. After college he worked for Spaulding High school as a history teacher and basketball coach. In 1972, he was drafted into the U.S. Army where he was notably discharged as a member of the Disabled American Veterans. After his Military Service he worked with R.A.V.E as a counselor to help vets qualify for disability.
Jimmy obtained his master’s degree in special education from College of St Joseph’s. He taught for a short time in Whitehall, NY and with State of Vermont work Program educating disabled adults. When he moved South, he decided to start a commerce shop selling items on E-bay and working in sales. He worked as a hydraulic mechanic in Killington Vermont until he retired. Following his retirement he enjoyed reading, watching sports, fishing, camping and was always ready for his next adventure

Jimmy loved to travel and did so between Bronson, FL and Knoxville, TN. He settled with homes in both places. He spent time visiting family and friends, fishing along the way. Jimmy was a loving brother, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He will surely be missed by everyone who knew and loved him. He is survived by his brother Michael Esposito of Rutland VT; Shelley Munoz and Rene Munoz of Miami FL; Nichole Esposito of Rutland, VT and Stepdaughter Ember and Shawn Murphy of Knoxville, TN; Two nieces Regina and Deidre; Nine grandchildren; Vanessa, Nikolaus, Kala, Johnathan, Rene Jr and Kimberly of Miami, FL; Taya Lehouiller of Rutland, VT; Charli and McKenzie Murphy of Knoxville, TN; three great grandchildren and several cousins. Donations can be made to Wounded Warrior Project or Disabled American Veterans. Memorial services will take place in Vermont and be announced later, to celebrate Francis James Esposito Jr.
