Florence Greenhaus' Obituary
GREENHAUS,FLORENCE (FLO), passed away peacefully on January 8, 2012 at the age of 60, after a courageous two-year battle with cancer. Flo was born in Newfoundland, Canada and lived in Panama, California and Puerto Rico before moving to Coral Gables in 1987, where she resided until her passing. She loved to walk down Country Club Prado and around the Granada Golf Course with her family and friends. Flo earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Special Education from the University of Miami in 1998, and loved working with her students at Miami Coral Park Senior High. Flo is survived by her husband, Michael, her daughters, Janice and Sarah, her grandchildren, Emma and Sam, her sister, Maureen, her brothers, Art, Joe and Chris, and by her mother, Doris Newman. She is predeceased by her father, Sam Newman, and her brothers, Bill and Wall. Flo will be dearly missed by her family, her friends from Newfoundland, Miami Coral Park, the Cancer Support Community, and by the many other friends that she made throughout her life. A memorial service was held at Coral Gables Congregational Church on January 13, 2012 at 5 PM. In lieu of flowers, her family has requested that donations be made in her name to the American Cancer Society.
