Evee Marie Miquel's Obituary
Evee Marie Miquel, née Dupuis, born on Nov. 21, 1935 in New Orleans, LA, died on May 22, 2020 in Miami, FL. She married Matias C. Miquel on Sept. 27, 1958, living in Virginia, New York, Spain, Venezuela and Florida. She attended LSU, Barry University and St. Mary-of-the-Woods, obtaining a certification in Medical Technology, B.S. and Masters degrees. As a devout Catholic, she served the church as a CCD Teacher, Ecclésial Lay Minister, RCIA Director, Eucharistic Minister and a Liturgical Commissioner. She became a Secular Carmelite, serving her Chapter as Mistress of Formation. Evee was a member of the Coral Gables DAR Chapter (serving as Historian and Chaplain), an accomplished musician and linguist, world traveler, and an avid bridge, mahjongg and canasta player. Predeceased by her daughters, Francisca and Juanita, she is survived by her spouse, Matias, daughters, Mathilde and Antonia (Anwer), four grandchildren, Josef, Jamila, Emily and Antonio, her sister, Elise (Andrew, predeceased) and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Richards and the inurnment services will be at the Garden of Memories in New Orleans, LA.
