Enrique Jose Cosio, Jr.'s Obituary
Enrique Jose Cosio, Jr., 78, of Miami, passed away on April 4, 2024 following a long battle with cancer.
The firstborn child of Enrique and Mercedes Cosio, Enrique was born in Havana, Cuba on May 11, 1945. Enrique’s youth was spent in Cuba until the early 1960s when he, along with many young children, was sent to the United States by his parents via Operation Pedro Pan. Enrique found his way to Boston, MA where he spent his formative years, living and working there for over 20 years before moving to Miami, FL.
Enrique was a widower who had been married for more than 53 years to Maria Cosio. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be remembered for his strong faith, hearty laugh, and passion for reading. He will be remembered and dearly missed by friends and family alike.
Enrique is survived by his son Miguel "Mike" (Traci) and granddaughters, Delia and Isla of Manassas, VA; sister Maria (Jorge) Prieto of Miami, FL; and niece Alejandra "Ally" (Jorge) Prieto Ramos and grandnephew and grandniece, Jorge and Veronica Ramos of Palmetto Bay, FL.
A funeral mass honoring his life will be held at 11am on Friday, May 10, 2024 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 14187 SW 72nd Street, Miami, FL 33183.
