Emilie M. Shaw's Obituary
SHAW, EMILIE MURPHEY, joined the Lord January 26, 2012. Emilie was born on November 3, 1913 in Mansfield, Louisiana. She married Martin L. Shaw, Jr. and moved to Miami in 1932. She was an active and longstanding member of a number of organizations, including Colonial Dames XVII Century, where she was former State President. Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of the American Colonists, United Daughters of the Confederacy,Huguenot Society of Florida, Daughters of 1812, and the University of Miami Womens' Guild. Emilie was a true Southern lady, she touched and influenced countless lives across many generations. She is survived by her daughter Carol Sheldon and gfson Martin L. Shaw III and his wife Elpitha; grandchildren Laurie Sheldon, Samuel Sheldon & his wife Chana, Martin L. Shaw IV, and great-grandson EmetSheldon. In lieu of flowers please make donations in her memory to the Humane Society of GreaterMiami. Visitation at the funeral home on Sunday from 6pm till 9pm. Service on Monday at 11am at Saint Thomas Episcopal Church followed by an entombment at Woodlawn Park South.
