Elvia Adela Torres' Obituary
Elvia Adela Torres Zapata was born in Ecuador and left this earth into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus on June 19th, 2020, after a long battle with metastatic breast cancer. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family.
As a devoted wife, mother and grandmother she fought her battle with cancer for 42 years. Her determination was driven by her unwavering faith in her Lord, where she drew her strength to see her children grow, to be by their side and to then see her grandchildren grow up happily. She did not lose her battle to cancer but instead she triumphed over all of its setbacks and challenges for many years. No matter how sick she was, she was always determined to continue with her love for life. She loved the gift of life and through her faith in God enjoyed it to the fullest. She was loved by everyone she touched due to her sweet and loving care for all. Through her, we learned what true love and caring really is. Due to her resilience and perseverance she was present in all of our lives for 83 years. She will forever be present in the lives of all her family and friends.
Elvia is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Enrique Estuardo, their children Alejandro, Elvia, and Jeanette. As well as Liliana Torres (daughter in-law) and Jim Steigerwald (son in-law). She is also survived by her grandchildren that she loved so much: Jimmy, Andy, Alexander, Danny, Gabriel, Stephanie and Sarah. Additionally, she is survived by her two dear sisters Graciela Zapata and Maria de Lourdes (Maru) Zapata as well as all of her nieces, nephews and their extended families. Her family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Saint Jude Children's Hospital (www.stjude.org ).

Elvia Adela Torres Zapata nació en Ecuador y dejó esta tierra en los brazos de su Señor y Salvador Jesús el 19 de junio de 2020, después de una larga batalla contra el cáncer de mama. Ella falleció en paz rodeada de su amada familia.
Como devota esposa, madre y abuela, luchó su batalla contra el cáncer durante 42 años. Su determinación fue impulsada por su fe inquebrantable en su Señor, donde sacó fuerzas para ver crecer a sus hijos, estar a su lado y luego ver a sus nietos crecer felices. No perdió su batalla contra el cáncer, sino que triunfó sobre todos sus contratiempos y desafíos durante muchos años. No importaba cuán enferma estuviera, siempre estaba decidida a continuar con su amor por la vida. Ella amaba el regalo de la vida y a través de su fe en Dios la disfrutó al máximo. Fue amada por todos los que tocó debido a su dulce y amoroso cuidado hacia todos. A través de ella, aprendimos lo que realmente es el amor y el cuidado de quienes nos rodean. Además, le sobreviven sus dos queridas hermanas Graciela Zapata y Maria de Lourdes (Maru) Zapata, así como todas sus sobrinas, sobrinos y sus familias extendidas.
