ELSA VASCOS BOLT's Obituary
Elsa Vascos Bolt (Elsie), aged 69, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2017 at home in her Coral Gables residence. Elsie was born in La Habana, Cuba on January 6, 1948, the daughter of Alvaro Vascos Sr. and Elsa Prieto. December 12, 1961, Elsie was sent to live with her aunt Alicia in Miami, where she spent the rest of her beautiful life.
Elsie thoroughly enjoyed traveling and the Arts. Spain, Morocco, and France were some of her favorite countries. She especially enjoyed New York, not only for the history, cultural submergence and Broadway shows, but because of the fond memories created there with her family. It became a tradition to travel to NY with her daughter Elsa. Above all of these places, Elsie’s frequent visits over the decades to Walt Disney World, made it her favorite place on Earth.
Elsie was deeply devoted to the Catholic Church and shared a strong spiritual bond with God and Jesus. She prayed the Rosary very frequently and maintained a deep faith throughout her life.
Elsie was married to Nelson Garcia in 1965 and Arthur J. Bolt in 1977. She is survived by her brother, Alvaro Vascos; her four children, Nelson Garcia Jr., married to Lisa Garcia, Gisette (Gigi) Ann Marie Bolt, J Arthur Bolt, married to Patricia Fonnegra; and Elsa Christina Marie Bolt. In addition to raising four children, Elsie is survived by her four grandchildren, Katherine Alexandra Bolt, Justine Noel Garcia, Lucas James Fonnegra, and Liam Patrick Bolt. Her living cousin, Carmen Rodriguez (Tata) and Elsie were very close. Family, friends, and the simple things in life, were what she cherished. She dedicated her mind, body and soul to her children and grandchildren and would stop at nothing to encourage, guide, and protect them.
Over the years, Elsie had expressed her desire to have a Catholic ceremony and to be placed in the Earth with her father Alvaro Vascos. Arrangements have been made by Van Orsdel Funeral Chapel and she will be buried at Caballero Rivero Cemetary. Mass service will be held at the beautiful Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
The family wishes to thank all of those who loved her and for those who demonstrated kindness to her. Elsie truly loved everyone.
