ELMER THOMAS THURMOND JR.'s Obituary
Elmer Thomas Thurmond, Jr., 91, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2015. He was
born June 21, 1923 in Miami, FL. Tom was devoted to his wife of 65 years Margaret
Ezzell Thurmond who passed away in 2009. He graduated from Miami High School
and Georgia Institute of Technology. He was a member of the Masons, Shriners,
York Rite and Scottish Rite. Tom is survived by his daughters Margaret Landry
(Oren); Patricia Eldredge (Larry); Jane Holguin (Andrew) and son Tom Thurmond
(Marilyn). He is also survived by his grandchildren Karen Landry, Steven
Thurmond, David Thurmond, Courtney Slimick, Kyle Thurmond, Stephanie
Thurmond, Nicole Thurmond, Marie Holguin, Jesse Holguin; great‐grandchildren
Kristi Holloway, Ryan Thurmond, Michael Thurmond, Caitlyn Slimick, Lance
Thurmond, Hailey Slimick, Evelyn Torpy‐Landry, Gavin Slimick, Erin Torpy‐Landry;
great‐great grandchildren Aubree Holloway and Zander Thurmond. A visitation will
held on Saturday, June 13, 2015, from 2pm–5pm at Van Orsdel Kendall Chapel,
11220 N. Kendall Drive. Burial to follow on Monday at 12pm at Woodlawn Park
North Cemetery.
