Elizabeth Stewart Walcot's Obituary
WALCOT,
ELIZABETH STEWART, 82, a long time Miami resident, passed away on September 18, 2013. Elizabeth had a long and exciting career as a flight attendant with United Airlines. During her career she traveled throughout the United States and Europe. Born in Montreal, Quebec Canada to Elizabeth and John Stewart, she attended St. Willibrord Academy and Sir George Williams University. She lived for two years in London and Paris before joining United, after which she traveled to many places, Hawaii being one of her favorites. Elizabeth met and married Robert J. Walcot who was a pilot with Eastern Airlines. He predeceased her in 2010. Elizabeth and he skied, sailed and traveled to different parts of the world but mostly enjoyed serenity in their home, reading and listening to music. Betty, as she was familiarly known to family and friends, held a special spot in her heart for her family. She is survived by one sister, Jean (Dennis) Giguere of Ontario and by several nephews and nieces, including Ann, Cindy, Maggie, Tracey and Heather. Also surviving are her step-son Robert and step-grandchildren, Virginia and Calvin Warren. She is pre-deceased by her siblings John, Tommy and Peggy. Her sister Jean owes her own appreciation of music, theatre and ballet to Elizabeth’s passion for the Arts. Heartfelt thanks is accorded to special friends Pat Baxter, Kay O’Brien, Betty, Rose, Merrie, and to her attorney Jack Thomson and his paralegal, Brenda Smith as they helped ease her difficult final journey to rejoin with Bob. A Life Celebration will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, October 26th at VAN ORSDEL CORAL GABLES, 4600 S.W. 8th Street. Refreshments will follow.
