ELEANOR CAROLYN ZAHNER's Obituary
Zahner, Eleanor Carolyn Bowhay, (98) passed away Sunday, June 25, 2023. She was born in Alstead, NH to Richard E. Bowhay and Ethel M. Moore.
Eleanor met her husband, the late Robert D. Zahner, Jr. in Vermont. They moved to Coconut Grove in the fall of 1947 while Bob attended University of Miami receiving his BBA and LLD
retiring after 27 years as the City of Coral Gables Attorney.
Predeceased by her husband, Robert D. Zahner, Jr. (2008) and son, Robert A. Zahner (2009)
Eleanor became a teacher/guidance counselor at Pinewood Park, Silver Bluff, West Laboratory, Glades Middle and Ponce de Leon Jr. High School.
After retiring from teaching she went to work for Wylly's Professional Travel in Coral Gables. She put friends together to attend the Chelsea Flower Show in England each May, Wimbledon in July, cruising the Rhine River, rode camels in Egypt, elephants in Africa on safari. Anywhere you wished to go, Eleanor personally checked it out and saw that you had a great time.

Her poodles - favorite pets. Tennis her favorite sport.
The last four years she embraced Homestead as her new home with several of her Garden Club friends at Swankridge. She was the life of the party at the White Lion.
She will be interred with her late husband at the South Florida Veteran's National Cemetery in Lake Worth, FL.
