Edith Parker, 97, passed away on 3/5/14 after a short illness... Born in Bolton, England on 6/23/1916 she was a nurse in the British Army during World War II and married Jack Reiss, MD, JD, Lt. Col. ~ before spending most of her life in Coral Gables, Fla. Always active she raised two sons Michael & David before traveling the world many times and completing a Master's Degree...She had a passion for being around people and was active with the University of Miami Medical Faculty Wives and Adult Continuing Education Programs... An astute business woman, loving mother, good friend and keen student she was knowledgeable about most all subjects and sharp in mind until the very end...She is survived and much loved by her sons ~ David & Michael, their wives ~ Silvania & Diana and her extended family in England...Memorial Service 3 pm Saturday 3/8/14 at Van Orsdel Coral Gables Chapel 4600 SW 8th St. Coral Gables, FL 33134
