Dr. Theresa Avril Bryan's Obituary
BRYAN, Dr. Theresa Avril, 71, a retired University Professor and a Family Mediator for the State of Florida, passed away on Sunday November 8, 2009 at her home in Miami, Florida where she had resided with her husband since 1992. She died peacefully surrounded by her family and close friends. Dr. Bryan was born in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad. Avril was an amazing woman who displayed a strength, grace and dignity that will continue on and inspire her family, friends and students for years to come. She leaves to mourn her spouse Professor Anthony Bryan, her daughter Anique Bryan, M.D., and Anique’s husband Troy Woodburn, her son Roget Bryan, J.D., and grandchildren Dominque and Jordan Woodburn. She is survived by her mother Leonora Dolly and the Dolly siblings Arnim, Lystra, Winston, Franklyn, Lynette and Ann. The family will receive friends for visitation from 6-11 p.m. on Wednesday November 11 at Van Orsdel Family Funeral Homes, 11220 North Kendall Drive, 33176. A funeral service to honor Avril will be held at St. Luke the Physician Episcopal Church, 12355 SW 104 Street, Miami, FL 33186 on Thursday, November 12 at 11.a.m. Her ashes will be taken to Trinidad for a memorial service and inurnment.
