Dr. Ronald Wyatt Thomas' Obituary
Dr. Ronald Wyatt Thomas was born October 1st 1930 to Lucy Ben and Kenny Thomas in Loma Linda, Calif.
Ron went to sleep July 22nd 2010 at David’s home surrounded by his family. Ron had a passion for helping those in need and for sharing his faith in Jesus Christ with them in a real and living way. Ron inspired and transformed the lives of countless individuals through his wonderful personality, his powerful witness, his tasty food, and his beautiful music.
Ron was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He constantly sacrificed for the benefit of others and served in many missions, countries, and capacities.
Music was a medium which moved his soul and inspired him to tears. He was a relentless gourmet cook who delighted in making tasty dishes for anyone in need of a culinary treat.
As a young man Ron was called to serve as an Army combat Medic in Korea where he served on the frontlines of the DMZ on Heart Break Ridge. While on Heart Break Ridge he received a Bronze Medal with V for valor.
He served as an Emergency Room Physician, as the Chief Medical Officer on Midway Island, with The International Medical Corp., and with the California Dept. of Corrections for the past 18 years.
Ron will always be loved and missed by all who were blessed enough to have been touched by him.
Ron is survived by his wife Lynn, sister Donna Curtis and her husband William, daughter Thea Fickett and her husband Randy, son David Thomas and his wife Joyce, daughter Joy Dickson and her husband Hubie, daughter Terri Land and her husband Rob, and by his ex-wife Carol Thomas. Ron’s spirit lives on in his 5 grand-children and his great-grand daughter. Ron is survived by many nieces, nephews and by many others who call him uncle, and, by many, many friends around the world.
