Dorothy M. Braun's Obituary

Dorothy May Braun, died peacefully at her home on Wednesday, May 11, 2011.
Born in 1923, Dorothy served faithfully for the U.S. Navy during WW2 from 1943 until 1946, achieving the rank of Yeoman’s Second Class and earning the WW2 Victory and American Campaign Ribbons.
Dorothy went on to a fulfilling career, working for the Miami Dade Water and Sewer department where she met and married the love of her life William C. Braun in 1969. The Braun’s worked together until their retirement and then enjoyed their retirement years in Ocala until William’s passing in 2003. In 2004, Dorothy returned to Miami to be near family and friends, enjoying her remaining years residing with her sister Lucille May Trembley.
Dorothy was a gentle, caring, and always happy person who loved good food and had a wonderful smile that will be missed at the family gatherings.
She is survived by her loving sister Lucille, step-daughters Ellen Marie Covey and Christine Hall, nephews Phillip, Frank, John, and Steve Trembley, nieces Donna Roberson and Janet Armstrong, and their respective children and grandchildren, all of whom brought great joy to her later years.
The family extends their gratitude to Catholic Hospice, Kim Wicker, and Father Timothy Hopkins of St. Philomena Catholic Church, all of who provided comfort and support during her final days.
Visitation 6 – 8 pm Friday (today), Service 11:30 am Saturday at VAN ORSDEL CORAL GABLES CHAPEL.
