Dorothy Marie Young's Obituary
Dorothy Marie Young of Naples, Florida passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 2nd, 2022 with her family by her side after many years of battling Alzheimer’s Disease.
Dorothy “Dotty” is survived by her loving husband Robert “Rocky” Young. Her sister Mary (Terry) Davis. Her Son Benjamin (Jenny) Young, her daughters Mary (Dean) Calfee & Rose Young. Grandchildren Kelly (Kevin) Driver, Christie (Jason) Slater, Danielle (Jason) Cohen, Emily Young & Benjamin Young Jr. Dorothy is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Jonas “Buster” Clark, her sister Pearl Mathis and grandchildren Eric, Jessica and Jeremy.
Dotty was born to Jonas and Bertie Clark and lived in Miami with her two sisters and brother before she met her husband & best friend Rocky. Together, they shared a wonderful and loving 57 years of marriage, surrounding themselves with many friends and family whom they enjoyed spending time with and making memories. Dotty was a valued employee of the Chuckwagon Restaurant for more than 30 years before retiring and moving to Naples. She was always there to greet people with her beautiful smile. Over those many years she created many great friendships with both co-workers and customers. Dotty was the most caring, loving and kind woman to everyone she met. She was an amazing daughter, sister, wife, mother, “Nana”, aunt & friend. Our lives are better because of her. She was loved by so many and will be greatly missed.
The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers of AVOW Hospice for their loving and compassionate care.
Friends & Family are invited to a memorial to celebrate Dorothy’s beautiful life on Saturday, August 27th, 2022, beginning at 2:00 PM at Van Orsdel Funeral Home (Kendall) 11220 N. Kendall Drive. Miami, Florida.
