Donald Walter Bower's Obituary
Bower, Donald Walter, 84, passed away peacefully in his home on August 20, 2011. Born in Queens, NY, on April 4, 1927, he was a resident of Miami Springs for 57 years. He joined the Navy at 17 and served on the USS FDR. Don was a pioneer in aviation safety and recipient of the Charles Taylor Master Mechanic Lifetime Achievement Award. As founder and owner of East Coast Tank Sealing, Inc. and Coast Sealants Distributors, he was a maverick and would lead the region’s fuel system repair work on aircraft for more than 50 years. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Patricia, and a loving mentor to his 3 children Donnie (Linda), Michelle (Bill) and Wendy, and his 6 grandchildren Trent, Tyler, Denise, Rachel, Alex, and Kevin. Don will be missed by his family and friends but will always have a special place in our hearts. Visitation 5 – 9 pm Tuesday at Van Orsdel Coral Gables. Funeral service 10 am Wednesday at All Angels Episcopal Church Miami Springs, FL. Burial to follow Woodlawn Park Cemetery North.
