Debra L. Sutherland's Obituary
Debra L. Sutherland, 67, of Cutler Bay, FL, peacefully passed away at home on January, 1, 2020, surrounded by family, after a 10 year battle with colon cancer.
She was born in Paterson, New Jersey on December 1, 1952 to Sally J. Varley and Richard N. Varley Senior. Debra graduated from Glen Rock High School in Glen Rock, NJ. She married Scott A. Sutherland on March 11, 1988. Debra recently retired from Credomatic of Florida as Senior Vice-President after a 30 year career. She was also a yoga teacher. She was a kind and generous woman who deeply loved the ocean and all of the animals in it. She loved her golden retrievers, scuba diving, and running; and she was an avid reader. She is survived by her husband Scott Sutherland of Cutler Bay, Fl; her sister Susan A. Lewis of Accord, NY; her nephew Bryan Lewis of St. Thomas, USVI; her nephew James Lewis of Hurley, NY; and her niece Debra Lewis (Lucas Jordan) of Mecklenburg, NY; and her grand-neice Theia F. Jordan-Lewis of Mecklenburg, NY. She was predeceased by her mother Sally J. Varley; father Richard N. Varley; and brother Richard Varley Jr. The family suggests that memorial may be made to the Baptist Health Foundation.
