DAVID MALLIS's Obituary
MALLIS, David Faris passed away unexpectedly February 5, 2025 at the age of 54. Born in Coral Gables and graduated from South Miami High. Employed by the Miami-Dade County Public School District as an IT tech.
David is preceded in death by his parents, Joyceline and Spears Mallis and brother Charles. Survived by his loving sister Juliet, brother Samuel (Valerie) Mallis, sister-in-law Laurie Mallis, Uncle Paul and Aunt Maryann Mallis and nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends.
The first athlete to serve on Special Olympics Florida Board of Governors. He attended Athlete Congress and Input Council meetings. David participated in the 1995 World Games Sailing in Connecticut and the 2016 Special Olympics North America Golf Championship. David was an enthusiastic coach for tennis, bowling, golf and a fundraiser for Special Olympics.
