CYNTHIA HELENE MORAN's Obituary
Moran, Cynthia Helene passed away unexpectedly at home April 11, 2017. Born on May 23rd, 1963 in Redwood City, California, she is the daughter of Bill and Lelia Schulz of Scottsdale, Ari-zona. Cindy graduated from Scottsdale High School in 1981, where she was the number one singles player on their tennis team.
Cindy graduated from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL where she majored in Human Development and Social Policy, and was a loyal member of Kappa Alpha Theta, the first greek letter fraternity for women.
Following graduation in 1985, Cindy worked for United National Bank in Scottsdale and Citibank of Chicago in its Commercial Banking Department. She met her husband Mike, the love of her life, through a mutual friend and they married November 16th, 1991. In 1994, Mike and Cindy chose to make Miami their home and have been active members of the community.
In addition to Mike, Cindy’s love and life were centered around raising her three wonderful chil-dren, Jackson, Kelly and Nicholas. Cindy was passionate about history, and had read numerous president’s biographies and visited many of the presidential libraries. She was a voracious read-er, and could often be found sitting amongst her extensive book collection. Her quick mind and creativity lent itself to not only historical trivia games and political discourse, but also to her en-joyment of duplicate bridge where she was an ardent player at The Bidding Box and Riviera Country Club. She was a caring and generous person, giving of her time and talents to numer-ous organizations including the Junior League of Miami, Beaux Art, Autism Speaks and the Spe-cial Olympics. Cindy was extremely involved with Atlantis Academy Life Program, a program for young adults sponsored by Atlantis Academy Miami. She was always supportive of the school, teachers and students, and her energy, sweetness and kindness were evident to every-one she encountered.
She is survived by her loving husband Michael Edward Moran; her daughter Kelly Lee and her sons Jackson Andrew and Nicholas Edward; her parents Bill and Lelia Schulz; and her two sis-ters, Ellen Schulz and Lelia Salamone.
A Memorial Service will be held Monday, April 17th at St. Thomas Episcopal Church at 5:00pm, 5692 North Kendall Drive, Coral Gables. Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made in her name to Autism Speaks, www.autismspeaks.org
