Corabel Morgan's Obituary
MORGAN, Corabel, age 96, went to be with the Lord on April 11, 2012. She was born in Oklahoma City in 1915, the third of twelve children. The family moved to Florida in 1925. Her dad became the first mayor of Biscayne Park, and started Klefeker Produce Company at NW 7th Street and Miami Avenue. Corabel was blessed with a magnificent voice, and starred in musicals at Miami High and the University of Miami. She studied with opera coach Madame Louise Homer at her studio atop the Mayfair Theater at Biscayne Boulevard and 16th Street (Omni). During her voice lessons she met Charles Morgan, who had just opened Morgan Piano Company downstairs. They were married in 1937 during the Great Depression. Corabel was a soloist at First Presbyterian Church in downtown Miami. Charles passed away almost two years ago, after 74 years of marriage. Corabel directed the music programs at Miami Christian University and Florida Bible College, she also taught Bible classes throughout South Florida. She was active in various ministries. Her goal in life was to serve her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and she lived for Him in all she did. She is survived by two sons, Charles Jr., and Raymond, and by four grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at VAN ORSDEL CORAL GABLES, 4600 SW 8th Street, on Friday, April 13, 2012, from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 3:00 PM, Granada Presbyterian Church, 950 University Drive, Coral Gables, FL.
