Constance Muir's Obituary
Thomas Muir of Apt. 1602 would like to invite friends and family in a Remembrance for his beloved wife, Constance Muir, who passed away on September 8th. The Celebration of Life will take place in The Clubhouse at 1900 Sunset Harbor Drive, Miami Beach, FL 33139 on Saturday, September 10th, anytime between 3 p.m. - 5 p.m.
Constance, nee Convey, of Miami Beach, FL and formerly of North Bergen and Palisade Park, entered into eternal rest on September 8, 2022. She was the daughter of Alice, nee Barry, and Frank Convey of Scranton, PA and was married to her College Sweetheart, Tom. She graduate from Marywood University and Fairleigh Dickinson University, where she received her Masters Degree. She was a teacher at North Bergen High School and Memorial High School in West New York for many years. In later years, she was an Adjunct Professor at Saint Peter’s University in the Education Department. She loved supervising student teachers and looked forward each semester to the young men and women who were entering the field of education. She was also a parishioner of St. John’s Roman Catholic Church in Leonia where she was a Lector, Eucharistic Minister, and RCIA Minister. She and her husband served as a chairperson for the St. John the Evangelist Continuing the Mission Campaign.
Besides her devoted husband, Tom, Connie leaves behind her two adored sons and their families, Thomas Muir III and her daughter-in-law Christine; Timothy Muir and daughter-in-law Virginia and she was pre-deceased by her youngest son, Michael. She was a loving grandmother to Tommy Muir IV, Daniel Muir and Madison Muir. She is also survived by her loving sister and brother-in-law Marilyn and Newt Tiffany and her niece Susan Tiffany Piroso and nephews Pino and Alec Piroso, her niece Stefanie Tiffany Goldstein and her niece and Godchild, Allison Tiffany. Also, her brother-in-law Peter Muir and wife Gail, and her nephews JP Muir and wife Sara and family, and Jeffrey Muir and wife Cari and family. Her dear cousins Linda and David Bilanin and family, Patricia and Raymond Hanbury and family and her late cousin, Reverend Monsignor Kevin M. Hanbury, Chris and Barbara Burns and family and several other cousins and close friends. Connie loved her family and had a close friendship with all looking forward each year to getting together no matter the distance.
Connie was a member of Delta Pi Epsilon, National Honor Society, and the recipient of the Hudson County Teacher Recognition Award. While teaching at Memorial High School, she received the New Jersey State Merit Award. She loved her students and kept in touch with many of them through the years.
Her services will be held privately.
The Family of Constance Muir requests that in lieu of flowers donations can be sent to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in her name.
