CHARLES BENJAMIN TUTAN JR's Obituary
TUTAN, Charles B. Jr. died September 22, 2017 in Atlanta, GA. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mildred; two daughters Beth T. Kundert (Glen) and Cathy T. Eller (Buddy): two grandsons; Charles Tutan Eller and Cameron Barnes Eller. Mr. Tutan was a decorated U.S. Army combat infantry veteran of World War II. He was an automatic rifleman and assistant squad leader in the 397th Infantry Regiment of the 100th infantry Division, 7th army. He saw action in France and Germany where he received the Purple Heart, Combat Infantry Badge, Presidential Unit Citation, French Fourragire, and European Theater Ribbon with Two Battle Stars. Mr. Tutan was a native of Miami, born in 1925. He enjoyed a lifetime hobby of building model airplanes. He received a degree in Accounting and Business Administration from Duke University in 1950. His business career includes 13 years as part owner of Tutan Motors Dodge Plymouth - two years in Sales at William Lehman Used Cars - Twenty four years as Secretary-Treasurer and Assistant Comptroller of Hallett Pontiac in Miami. He retired in 1992. Charles was a past member of the Coral Gables Kiwanis Club and a member of Granada Presbyterian Church since 1968. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Service will be held on Saturday, 9/30/17 at 11AM at Granada Presbyterian Church, 950 University Dr., Coral Gables, FL 33134. Private interment to follow at Woodlawn Park North Cemetery.
