Celestine Phillips' Obituary
Celestine Phillips, (nee Mootoo) passed away peacefully on the evening of Sunday, November 3, 2019 surrounded by family. She went home to be with her Lord and Savior at the age of 98.
Celestine was born to Joseph and Jumratan (Annie) Mootoo in Queenstown, Georgetown, Guyana (formerly British Guiana) on April 30, 1921.
She was predeceased by her husband John Compton Phillips and survived by her six loving children Jacqueline (Hugh) Holder, Jennifer (William) Asewicz, Dennis, Gordon (Ingrid), Trevor, and Bette-Lou Phillips.
Celestine will be lovingly remembered by her sixteen grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She was a loving Aunt to the Pollard, Mootoo, Kissoon, Phillips, and Illoo families as well as the many family friends who considered her an Aunt.
Visitation will be held at Van Orsdel Kendall Chapel on Friday, November 8th from 6:00 – 10:00 PM.
