Carolyn Cross, 88, passed away peacefully in her sleep March 13, 2010. A Miami resident for almost 80 years, she spent her final years in Phoenix, Arizona. She was the daughter of the late William Henry Cross and the late Agnes Elizabeth “Bessie” Walker Cross. Carolyn was preceded in death by her loving husband Virgil E. Owens, Sr., sisters Gladys Hudspeth and Elsie Clark, and brothers James, Amos, and John Cross. She is survived by son Virgil E. Owens, Jr., daughter Carol Staffieri, grandson Steven (Oriana) Owens, great granddaughter Brianna Owens, and brother Harold I. Cross, Sr. A graveside service will be at Flagler Memorial Park on Tuesday, March 23 at 11:00 a.m. VAN ORSDEL CORAL GABLES
