Ella Carolyn Pearson was born on May 18, 1918 to William Edward & Ada Belle Pearson in Louisville, KY.
At three years old, Carolyn lost her Mother in an auto accident .Her Dad remarried Marian Rhau Pearson. She grew up in the family business Pearson Funeral Home in Louisville. Carolyn attended Ward Belmont in Nashville, TN.
She married George K. “Sonny” Haas in 1941 & moved to Lima, OH, then to Alexandria, VA, and finally settling in Miami, FL to raise their three children, George Kirk, Dana Anne, & Eric Taylor Haas .They were founding members St Thomas Episcopal Church.
She married Milton M. Ferrell, Sr. in 1968. Before moving to Columbus, GA. Carolyn was a member of Kendall Presbyterian.
Carolyn went home to be with her Savior on November 9, 2015.
Predeceased by her parents, brothers Clyde A. Pearson, Paul Pearson, Half Sister Martha Pearson, Step Sister Ruth Morris Young, Husband Milton Ferrell, Sr., son G. Kirk Haas, and stepson Milton M. Ferrell, Jr.
She is survived by daughter Dana Haas Freeman (Andy) of Columbus , GA., son Eric Taylor Haas( Lori) of Miami, FL.; stepdaughters Anne Ferrell, Bebe Ferrell McClain( Bill), and Lori Ferrell; Grandchildren Jonathan A. Miller ( Mary), Andrew P. Miller (Becca), Carolyn Miller Scruggs ( Jon), Meghan M. Hetfield , Taylor E. Haas, William McClain III, Ferrell McClain, Maggie McClain (Mike Ramsden) Clem Rinehart, Annabelle Rinehart, Whitney Ferrell, and M. Morgan Ferrell III ; Great-Grandchildren Lillian Ella Miller, Simon McClain, Callie Smith, Clara Smith, Will Ramsden and Milton M. Ferrell IV .
Carolyn touched many lives with her beautiful smile that accompanied the many gospel tracts that she passed to countless friends, and strangers.
The family is grateful for the love and support of Martha Ann Haas, and Pamela Poulos. The family wishes to thank Dr. Jamaal Mohyuddian, and the loving staff at Spring Harbor Skilled Nursing Center in Columbus, GA.
Arrangements were made by McMullen Funeral Home in Columbus, GA, and Van Orsdel Funeral Chapels and Crematory in Miami, Florida.
A private memorial service was held at Caballero Rivero Woodlawn Park Cemetery North Mausoleum
on November 14, 2015, with Rev Mike Campbell of Old Cutler Presbyterian officiating.
