That’s a wonderful addition — it gives your tribute a more personal
When I received the heartbreaking news of Carol’s passing, I couldn’t find the words to express how much she meant to me—both professionally and personally. The way I teach and view early childhood education has a clear “before and after” since meeting her.
I first met Carol in 2001 while working at Loving Child Care. She became my mentor a few years later at United Way, guiding me to understand the High/Scope approach. With her encouragement and support, I began working at the Debbie School, where she helped me see the incredible strengths in children with special abilities.
About five years later, Carol and Rose Marie gave me the opportunity to join the United Way Center for Excellence, and I have been there ever since—since 2007 until now.
With Carol, I learned that teaching is so much more than sharing knowledge; it’s about inspiring, guiding, and transforming. Her legacy will live on in every classroom, every child, and every teacher who had the privilege of learning from her.
Thank you, Carol, for planting in me a deeper passion for teaching. I will never forget all that you taught me.
Rest in peace 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
